A feeder with compartments and sliders the animal has to work out to reach the food.
Two reasons to buy one. First, a dog that inhales its dinner in ninety seconds swallows a lot of air with it, which causes bloating and, in deep-chested breeds, something considerably worse. Slowing the meal down helps.
Second, boredom. Most destructive behaviour at home is an under-stimulated animal with nothing to do. Making dinner into a twenty-minute problem to solve does more for that than another walk.
Start on the easy level even if you think your pet is clever. An animal that cannot solve it gives up and walks away, and then the feeder sits in a cupboard.
